[BROOKLYN, NY] Hundreds of local makers and small manufacturing businesses will be celebrated as part of Pratt Center’s Made in NYC Week, May 10-18, 2024. The event series, now in its sixth year, brings together New York City’s dynamic community of makers and manufacturers through pop-up markets, brick and mortar retail activations, networking events, factory tours, and other gatherings that are open to the public every year.
Additionally, for the first time this year, Made in NYC presents Taste of Made in NYC (hosted by Brooklyn Navy Yard), a ticketed tasting event that will take place on Saturday, May 18th, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Building 77. With sweeping views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline, this event will showcase 40 Made in NYC exhibitors, including samples of local craft beer, wine and spirits, delectable bites ranging from jerk chicken to vegan cheese, along with mini doughnuts and boozy ice cream. A variety of handcrafted products ranging from jewelry and ceramics to fashion and accessories will also be available. All food and beverage samples are included in the ticket price ($45 per person) and attendees will also have the opportunity to shop the event and buy products on site, further supporting these local businesses. Early bird tickets will be available upon launch of ticket sales however quantities are limited. General admission tickets will become available after the early bird inventory is sold out.
“Guests will experience a delicious culinary journey through the best of the five boroughs—from delicious bites paired with craft beer and wine, to sweet treats and coffee, while appreciating and purchasing handmade wares for the home, stylish garments, wellness products, and more,” said Taylor Novick-Finder, Senior Program Manager for Made in NYC. “It promises to be a wonderful complement to the already vibrant experience that is Made in NYC Week. This year, as in the past five years, we are proud to bring together exhibitors that showcase the innovative craftsmanship and talent found in New York City.”
