Gaining Ground Panel Discussion
Community Land Trusts (CLTs) have emerged across New York City as a powerful tool to address the city’s affordability crisis and racialized displacement. But to reach scale and sustainability, CLTs require dedicated public land, funding, and planning.
Thanks to all who attended our panel discussion! We learned so much from our panelists from the importance of CLTs in building community wealth and power to their value as a model for participatory planning. We also celebrated:
- Mott Haven-Port Morris Community Land Stewards who have won the city’s RFP for a vacant Bronx detox center, allowing their community driven H.E.ARTS Center proposal to move forward!
- After years of hard work and organizing, ReAL Edgemere CLT now controls 119 lots in Edgemere, Queens.
