Celebrating 10 Years of Taconic Fellowship

We are thrilled to share that the celebration of 10 years of Pratt Center’s Taconic Fellowship on September 26th was a resounding success! The event, which was part of our 60th anniversary commemorations, brought together a vibrant community of former and current Taconic Fellows, community partner organizations, and friends of Pratt Center.

Attendees gathered at the historic Caroline Ladd Pratt House to honor the impact of the Taconic Fellowship, which has supported hundreds of Pratt Institute faculty, staff, and students working on community engagement projects that advance racial, social, and economic justice across New York City.

The evening featured the unveiling of a new Pratt Center report and a gallery of posters honoring a decade of Taconic projects, designed by Pratt Creative Services. We heard from inspiring speakers including past fellows Gita Nandan and Cynthia Tobar and community partner Ligia Guallpa from the Worker’s Justice Project. New York City Council Member Crystal Hudson (D-35) presented two official proclamations—one celebrating 10 years of the Taconic Fellowship, and another recognizing 60 years of Pratt Center’s commitment to community development and justice in New York City. Guests had the chance to mingle and talk about why community engagement is so important to Pratt Institute.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 10 years of the Taconic Fellowship!
