Chairperson and Professor
Art and Design Education
Professor and Chairperson Aileen Wilson is an art and design educator, K-12 teacher educator, and researcher. Aileen received her MA in Printmaking and Painting at the Chelsea School of Art in London, then obtained an EdD in Art/Art Education at Teachers College Columbia University. Her work is focused on the contextual challenges that influence high school students' art college-going decisions and has been supported by 2011–2012, 2019-2020 and 2022-2023 Fulbright Specialist Grants and a 2013–2014 National Art Education Foundation Research Award. In 2013, in order to provide underserved New York City teens attending public schools with greater access to high-quality studio-based instruction in art and design, she launched - as a member of a faculty-led-team - the Pratt Young Scholars, a college access program, now housed in the Center K-12.
Websites are invisible consumers of energy, and crisp, clear images consume the most. By default, our images load in low resolution to lighten our website's energy load. To see an image in full resolution, or to toggle between lo- and hi-res modes, click the icon at the top right hand corner.
Bypass lo-res images altogether by selecting “Load All Full-Res” here or in the footer of any page on the site.
