Made in NYC Learning Lab enlists the creative expertise of the Pratt community and external experts to provide learning opportunities and creative services to Made in NYC members.
About the Learning Lab
The Made in NYC Learning Lab provides marketing and business development experts the opportunity to teach workshops or provide creative services to Made in NYC companies.
This opportunity is open to full-time and part-time professors, adjunct and visiting faculty, and full-time and part-time staff at Pratt Institute. It is also open to experts outside the Pratt community. We welcome applications from those who have participated in the past for existing or new program ideas.
Since 2016, Made in NYC has enlisted the Pratt community to bring creative expertise to Made in NYC manufacturers and makers. To date, this effort has served more than 2,500 businesses in diverse programs. The most successful programs have delivered concrete value to businesses, such as photography or videography assets that can be integrated into marketing and business development, and have clear connections to business growth goals. Additionally, businesses have expressed interest in event and market vending best practices and learning how to pitch to retail, wholesale, and corporate clients.
Examples of high-impact programming include:
Product photography integrated into digital marketing
Helping businesses develop their brand storytelling while also creating content for the Made in NYC website and social media channels
Support or resources for merchandising products for retail sale
Note: These are intended to be illustrative. We welcome any and all ideas from the Pratt community for programs that will serve NYC manufacturers and makers.
The Made in NYC Learning Lab is a publicly-funded program and has set ambitious goals to reach New York City manufacturers and makers. The Made in NYC team will work with selected applicants to refine program concepts, support recruitment of businesses, and identify program partnerships that will ensure programs meet goals and deliver value for businesses and the Pratt community alike.
The application process for the Fall 2026 - Spring 2027 Learning Lab programs has closed. Please stay tuned for future Learning Lab opportunities by subscribing to our newsletter.
