Yuliya Dzyuban

Assistant Professor Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment
Yuliya holds a PhD in Sustainability from Arizona State University. She uses a mixed method approach to track, map, and analyze heat exposure, and develop urban design solutions for thermal comfort improvement in cities. Yuliya has lived and conducted research in some of the hottest cities in the world, such as Singapore, Phoenix, and Hermosillo where her research contributed to changes in neighborhood design and planning policies. Furthermore, she is developing and testing participatory methodologies for evaluating, and co-creating nature-based solutions through the lens of environmental justice with her international collaborators. Yuliya is also a Vice-President of the International Society of Biometeorology, supporting the advancement and dissemination of biometeorology research in the world.
