Maria Vrdoljak

Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Pratt Institute
Maria Vrdoljak is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Pratt Institute. She received her Master of Architecture from Harvard University and her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She has practised and collaborated with architecture studios in Sydney, London, and New York. She is the co-founder of Viduu Studio. At Pratt Institute, she is currently teaching an Advanced Architecture Design Studio, titled “The Air We Breathe: Bio-based Construction and Community Partnerships”. She also teaches Bio-based Materials workshops, on the study of the practical and experimental potentials of low-carbon building materials and their architectural potential through research, material testing, and experimentation at a 1:1 scale. The work has been exhibited and shared with industry partners, community groups, and climate events in the New York region. She is also part of the Pratt Decarbonization Group, a collaborative research team developing a framework to advance the decarbonization of the building construction and retrofit sector in New York through applied research, community partnerships, and pilot projects.
