Julie Torres Moskovitz

Julie Torres Moskovitz, AIA, LEED AP, CPHC/CPHT is founding principal of Fete Nature Architecture, PLLC. What drives her design practice is to engage in the world collaborating for thoughtful spaces and sustainability for all. Social and environmental justice is at the core of FNA's research and work.

She received her Master of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA at the University of Michigan in African Studies (colonialism and neocolonialism in Francophone Africa) and French. Her education has continued with on-going training in Passive House since 2010 including a certification training in Dublin, Ireland as a Passive House tradesman specializing in the building envelope.

She is a registered architect in New York State, New Jersey, Georgia, and Washington and is NCARB certified, a LEED accredited professional, and a Certified Passive House Consultant and Certified Passive House Tradesman (Building Envelope). WBE paperwork is in progress for FNA.

Before starting her own firm, she worked for Gluckman Tang Architects, Rice Lipka Architects plus several Design/Build firms on diverse large-scale project types such as museums, libraries, university buildings and galleries. Her training at these firms provided an opportunity to detail minimalist architecture, problem-solve on complex sites with many stakeholders, and collaborate with builders and craftsman.

Since 2006, her practices have focused on a multitude of projects including new construction, residential retrofits, commercial spaces, office building retrofits, park designs, passive house, FEMA flood resiliency, and non-profit projects. She completed two NYC Build it Back projects for residents in Canarsie, Brooklyn.

She teaches a seminar at Syracuse University NYC called Eco Urban Systems and teaches at Pratt Institute where she is a Taconic Fellow.I
