Ashlee Fong

Ashlee Fong is a senior at Pratt Institute pursuing a degree in Industrial Design. Originally from New Jersey and born in New York City, she developed a strong connection to cultural environments such as Chinatown, which are closely tied to her Chinese heritage. She recently studied abroad at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, where she was enrolled in the Department of Industrial, Interior, and Craft Design. During this program, she explored diverse media and collaborated with Fujifilm Business Innovation on a design project. In addition to industrial design, Ashlee brings a background in fashion design and UI/UX design, which enables her to work across multiple disciplines. Her primary interests include soft goods, toy design, jewelry, and home goods. She currently works as a researcher at the Pratt Sustainability Center, where she leads projects on sustainable materials and develops educational initiatives to promote environmentally responsible practices. Ashlee’s professional experiences also include working as an ABA paraprofessional teacher assistant, where she gained valuable insights into supporting children with special needs. This experience inspired her long-term goal of creating sensory toys. She aims to combine creativity and problem-solving to design products that are both meaningful and impactful.
