Pratt Center Internships
During the academic year, Pratt Center internships are limited to graduate students enrolled at the Pratt Institute. However, we do have opportunities for summer interns from other institutions, especially graduate students in Urban Planning, Communications and Design, Urban Policy, Economic Development and/or Sustainability Planning. Although special consideration is given to applicants with demonstrated skills in GIS, Stata and/or graphic design, the Center works with interns in research, policy, planning, fundraising development and operations. The Application period for summer 2013 has begun! The deadline for submissions is March 29, 2013. Regional Outreach Coordinator (ROC)
Pratt Center seeks an industrial development specialist who has keen interest in and knowlege of sustainability services. The ROC will work with a team of professionals at Pratt Center and a larger team assembled by Solar One on an energy efficiency and renewable energy promotion project called the EDGE program, for which the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA) is the client. The ROC will provide on-the-ground outreach and support to industrial business owners who are potential users of NYSERDA incentive programs throughout New York City, promoting the value of energy efficiendy, sustainable growth practices and clean energy technologies and innovations. S/he will utilize relationships with key economic development and other stakeholder organizations and their constituencies to provide direct customer support to move participants into financial incentive programs. Candidates should have some experience working within the industrial business sector, knowledge of NYSERDA programs and regional economic development assistance programs; experience conducting outreach about energy efficiency and renewables; deomonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure; streangths in public speaking and making presentations; and experience in community outreach and event planning.
