At this FREE workshop, homeowners will learn about energy-saving tips, energy efficiency, and residential renewable energy incentives.

Homeowners can bring 12 months of utility bills from ConEd and National Grid or their oil provider to the workshop. Senior Energy Smart Communities Coordinator Jay-E Emmingham will help them fill out applications for free or low-cost energy audits offered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

BPI Basic Air Sealing and Insulation Class

This course teaches the basic skills for weatherizing a building. The class focuses on how to install air sealing and insulation treatments that increase a home's energy efficiency, and it provides the background necessary to become a highly qualified entry level installer. Topics covered in this course will provide participants with a strong background to participate in the BPI Building Analyst training.

Classroom/Lab Dates:

BPI AC and Heat Pump Professional Class

This three-day course is designed for experienced heating contractors.  The training, which consists of both classroom and field experience, will help prepare participants for the Building Performance Institute's Cooling Professional online and field exams.

BPI Building Analyst Class

This training program will help you prepare for the Building Performance Institute’s Building Analyst on-line and field tests. You’ll come to understand how the house works as a system, why some homes fail, and how to use the latest building science technology to help resolve residential heating, cooling, and base load air leakage problems.
