Training Overview: This training program will help you prepare for the Building Performance Institute’s Building Analyst on-line and field tests, and will open your eyes to a new way of thinking about residential buildings. You’ll come to understand how the house works as a system, why some homes fail, and how to use the latest building science technology to help resolve residential heating, cooling, and base load air leakage problems.

Training Overview
Using a 'whole house' performance-based approach, this training will cover advanced building envelope diagnostics, evaluation and repair skills to help you prepare for the Building Performance Institute's (BPI's) Envelope Professional written and field exams. Training will include review of some Building Analyst topics, but is not a BA preparatory course. BA completion is necessary.

Basics of Building Science Online

Training on February 28, 2011

During this course, students will be introduced to the expanding field of Building Science. Students will learn how to analyze the components of a home and how they work as a system. This course teaches the basics of building science and how interacting relationships affect the performance of a home. This is not an in-depth building science course; it is an introduction with the intent to give the student a foun-dation upon which to build.
