NYSERDA Funding for Registered Apprenticeships, Building Trades Training and On-the-Job Training

New York State Energy Research Development Authority is seeking proposals for energy efficient workforce development. Eligible training and apprenticeship providers as well as eligible businesses seeking to hire and provide training may qualify for a 75-50 percent cost share from NYSERDA. The Green Jobs Green New York Workforce Development initiative are designed to advance the skills of new and existing workers, provide job-related experience and help connect new workers to employers.

The New York Energy $mart Commercial Lighting Program was created with three goals in mind: improving the understanding of energy efficient lighting and its benefits, improving the infrastructure to deliver lighting solutions and market the benefits to customers, and making energy-efficient lighting information more accessible for customers. NYSERDA’s Commercial Lighting Program provides incentives to promote and implement energy efficient lighting design and use in commercial buildings.

NYSERDA Developing Directory of Green Technicians - Closed

The New York State Green Residential Building Program provides incentives to new or substantially renovated residential buildings that meet energy efficiency standards outlined by the program. NYSERDA is seeking HERS raters, green home verifiers and LEED for Home verifiers to participate in this statewide program.

Green Jobs Green NY Initiative Provides Additional Incentives for Energy Efficiency

NYSERDA has recently released its Green Jobs Green New York Program to make free and low-cost energy assessments and low-interest financing to homeowners. Contractors wishing to participate in these initiatives and in other NYSERDA and utility energy efficiency incentive programs must be accredited by the Building Performance Institute.
