Our Programs

The Pratt Center works to strengthen communities and their infrastructure. That requires us to work at many different levels: the lot and block, the neighborhood, the city, and the region.

Our energy efficiency team makes sure homes, busineses, and community spaces are environmentally sustainable.

Our city planners focus on the larger neighborhood and its capacity for supporting the resources its residents, businesses, and institutions need.

And our policy and sustainable development initiatives push for city-, state, and region-wide practices that make it possible for communities to plan, build, and grow healthier and more prosperous.

The Pratt Center staff carries out this work through:

Economic and Community Development

We work with New Yorkers in neighborhoods across the city to build economic opportunity and shape communities through the city planning process.

Sustainable Neighborhoods

We put the services of architects, energy efficiency experts and policy advocates to work to make sure all New Yorkers have a chance to live in energy-efficient and healthy homes.

Policy and Infrastructure

We work to ensure that development brings meaningful benefits--especially good jobs and affordable housing--to low-income New Yorkers.
