As Pratt Center’s Community Retrofit Outreach Coordinator, Toni-Marie designs and implements strategies to connect with residential property owners and ownership companies to recruit them for the Community Retrofit NYC program. Community Retrofit NYC is a program managed by the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability that provides free educational, engineering, financial and construction management advisory services to multi-family building owners, operators and managers to help with energy and water retrofits/upgrades as an effort to promote energy efficient buildings and preserve affordable housing. She also provides technical assistance to potential program clients in New York City’s energy retrofit incentive programs.
Prior to Pratt Center, Toni-Marie worked on sustainability initiatives for the Natural Resources Defense Council(NRDC) by tracking building operations through an energy, water and solar monitoring software program in order to explore new sustainability projects and policies to help NRDC reduce consumption and their carbon footprint. She also interned for Silverstein Properties Inc. and Beacon Capital Partners where she gained insight on several energy/sustainability projects and tenant marketing initiatives from a commercial real estate perspective.
Toni-Marie holds a Dual Master’s Degree in Regional Planning and Sustainability Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also holds a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.
