NYSERDA Developing Directory of Green Technicians - Closed

News last updated April 5, 2012

The New York State Green Residential Building Program provides incentives to new or substantially renovated residential buildings that meet energy efficiency standards outlined by the program. NYSERDA is seeking HERS raters, green home verifiers and LEED for Home verifiers to participate in this statewide program.

To apply, technicians must submit documentation of training and work in energy efficient design and construction and green building measures. Training courses that fulfill the requirements of the program include: Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst, BPI Multi-family Building Analyst, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Accredited Professional and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) accredited Green Verifier among others.

Qualified technicians will be listed as NYSERDA’s participating contractors and will be able to work on projects through NYSERDA’s incentive programs. This directory will be accessible to interested building owners and home builders both online and by phone. NYSERDA will also state in all communication to participants and program partners that building owners must use only qualified technicians to ensure the building is eligible for the program.

For more information and details about the application process, please refer to NYSERDA RFQ 15.
